1998 - Raced nine rounds of the 250cc Supercross season...best results were fourth-place at Tampa, Fla., and Daytona, Fla...Albertyn came on strong in the Mazda Truck 250cc Motocross Nationals season, with overall podium finishes at Sacramento, Calif., Mt. Morris, Penn., Southwick, Mass., Binghamton, N.Y., and Delmont, Penn....finished the national motocross series as runner-up for the title of the Mazda Truck 250cc Motocross Nationals... rode for Team Suzuki.

1997 - Won the Supercross season opener in Los Angeles and took second-place finishes at Daytona, Fla., Minneapolis and Dallas, and third place at Charlotte, S.C.... Won the overall at round two of the 250cc National Motocross Series in Sacramento, Calif., and placed second at Washougal, Wash., and the season finale in Delmont, Pa... Rode for Team Suzuki.

1996 - Won the 250cc Motocross National at New Berlin, N.Y... Finished third in the 250cc Motocross National at Binghamton, N.Y... Only managed three top-ten finishes in Supercross, best was seventh at Denver... Rode for Team Suzuki.

1995 - Finished third overall in AMA 250cc Nationals at Sacramento, Budds Creek and Buchanan... Finished fourth at the Las Vegas Supercross... Rode for Team Suzuki.

1994 - Second World Motocross Championship, 250cc class.

1993 - World Motocross Champion, 250cc class.

1992 - World 125cc Motocross Champion.

Personal
Enjoys jet skiing, outdoor activities and flying helicopters... Was a five-time South African and two-time Netherlands National Motocross Champion... Motocross racing was a family activity while growing up... One of the best-liked riders on the circuit by fans and his fellow racers... Would like to race cars after retiring from motorcycle racing.

I like Alby, but I'm still chapped that Larry tanked that first moto at Steel City last year, so he could clinch the title :( Dammit! And then Larry went down in the second moto, but managed to finish 10th. I wanted to see my boy on the podium!!  And now Alby is retiring. Hate to see him go!   Maybe we'll see him behing the lens.
